Skin care clinic in San Fernando Valley — how to choose your treatment

Fadia Beauty is an esthetician-led skin studio at 14423 Sherman Way, Van Nuys, CA 91405 — near the centre of the San Fernando Valley, which is why clients come to us from Reseda, Panorama City, North Hollywood, Sherman Oaks and Encino as easily as from Van Nuys itself. We are open Tuesday to Saturday, 8:00am to 7:00pm, and closed Sunday and Monday.

Most people arrive knowing what bothers them about their skin but not which treatment on the menu addresses it. The list below is organised that way round — by the concern you walk in with, rather than by treatment name — with the time and the price for each, so you can work out what to book and how much of your day it will take before you pick up the phone.

If your skin is congested or breaking out

The Acne Facial ($120, 80 minutes) is the starting point: a deep cleanse and extraction session aimed at congested pores. If oiliness and rough texture are part of the picture, a Salicylic Peel 22% add-on ($25) is often combined with it. Younger skin has its own booking — the Teen/Tween Facial ($90, 60 minutes) is a gentler version of the same idea, and there is a men’s facial option ($100, 60 minutes) across all our facial treatments.

Congestion is not limited to the face. The Back Facial ($100, 60 minutes) and Under Arm Facial ($75, 60 minutes) cover the areas people tend not to think about until summer.

If your skin looks dull, uneven or tired

The Brightening Facial ($175, 80 minutes) is our longest-standing booking for uneven tone. A Glycolic Peel 30% add-on ($25) is the usual companion to it. If the problem reads more as surface texture and peach fuzz than as tone, Dermaplaning is the better fit — either as a full Dermaplaning Facial ($135, 80 minutes) or as a 45-minute add-on ($65) to another treatment.

For skin that simply feels dehydrated — tight after cleansing, makeup sitting badly — the Hydra Facial ($180, 80 minutes) is the most requested treatment we offer, and the one clients most often come back for on a regular cycle.

If you are thinking about fine lines and firmness

Two bookings sit in this category and they are quite different in commitment. The Anti Aging Facial ($155, 80 minutes) is a facial — you come in, you leave, you carry on with your day. Microneedling ($195, 120 minutes) is the longer appointment on our menu at two hours, and is booked accordingly.

We also run LED red light therapy, which clients tend to add on rather than book alone, and radiofrequency skin tightening ($85).

Body and contouring treatments

Our body treatments are all priced at $85 per session: Face Lift, Skin Tightening, Double Chin, Fat Reduction and Butt Lift. Paraffin wax treatments are also available for dry, cracked skin on hands and feet, which is a more common booking in the dry months than people expect.

How much time to set aside

Nearly every facial on our menu runs 60 to 80 minutes. The two exceptions at either end are the Under Arm Facial and the peel add-ons, which are shorter, and Microneedling at 120 minutes. If you are booking on a lunch break, the 60-minute treatments are the realistic options; the 80-minute facials are better suited to a morning or an end-of-day appointment. With an 8:00am opening Tuesday to Saturday, the first slot of the day is usually the easiest one to get.
